Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) is a surface sensitive technique which can enhance the Raman signal by multi-fold orders of magnitude in comparison with the standard Raman spectroscopy. Gold and silver nano particles are used in SERS as they possess the characteristics such as plasmonic enhancement, biocompatibility, stability, and functionalization capabilities. With SERS,IndiRAM system can be used for the detection of pesticides, antibiotics, drugs, dies and various chemicals at femtomolar concentration.
